Since I made the big annoucement at work that I was going travelling, everyone else who has been travelling has tipped thier hand and told me about thier trips.

One of the things that keeps coming up is Vietnam. I had also been reading beforehand that it was a good spot, then that Top Gear special came along… And then lots of folks at work said u should.

It’s looking like I’m going to do it! I’ll change the route so that I fly into Hanoi, then over land to Phuket, where I would then proceed to Hong Kong.

I think a little longer in SE Asia might be a good thing. The whole idea of this trip is that I avoid being to specific on the schedule, so I can move dates around if I want. But, once I am on the trip, rerouting will cost me, so I want to have my route sorted before I go!
