Just a quick one from Newcastle! I’m having a blast of a time up here staying with Tracey! One thing I have realised about Australia, since I’ve been here I’ve only spent one night in a hotel bed!
Newcastle is quite an interesting spot really. Its the 2nd largest port in Australia (and the first port after settlement) and is predominantly industry based (Wikitravel would have me believe), but that being said, it’s hard to see it when your exploring.
First day I got here it was blowy
Now this is how to see a Kangaroo (in captivity). Shane: Please note that Tracey points out live ones which are not roadkill!
The view from outside Tracey's place (could have found a better day for it). I went for a walk round Lake Macquarie (the largest saltwater lake in Aus)
Hard to see I know, but there are dolphins in it!
The next day I headed for an explore of Newcastle City Centre
I found the Convict Lumber Yard, which even Tracey had not found!
This is a port afterall!

I was having a great time just seeing what I could do with the camera!
I decided to walk down to the end of that
The waves were great! I loved snapping them!
Right at the far end they were pretty big!
Hard to see but I got a good one here

But do you notice the water close to the camera on this one?
A breaker got me from behind!
As close as I got to getting a similar one from afar
Now I'm just inserting these because they are great photos!
If only that woman wasnt there (or was at least paying attention to the great photo behind her)
